I am 14, 6′1, 175 pounds and going out for tight end next year at my high school football team. Can any one tell me how to gain serious muscle this summer before the season starts?

  1. Dude just workout and eat healthy.

    Bench press
    Deadlifts
    Squats
    Power Cleans

Those exercises should be the base of your training regime. The rest of your training should be dedicated to sprinting. Like alternating between jog and sprint… sprint 30 seconds… jog 30 seconds… and keep alternating and doing as many sets as possible. Don’t forget to eat right.

I used creatine (drink lots of water) ate as much as I could worked out 4 days a week, and played a lot of basketball (excellent conditioning.) The only side effect that I felt come from creatine was shin splints. If you gain them you should stop and take a sorce of anti imflemitories. Other that that science has not found any negitive side effects of creatien. When you work out try to do pyrimids 10 the first set then 8,6,4,2 adding weight each time if you are on a machine or have a spotter. Pyametrics are excellent to try jumping onto platforms with weights this increases speed, jumping, and stregnth. Excellent Luck this season, if it seems like the first few weeks of football you are getting tossed around, just wait till you get the form down it will get simpler.

You have to use or train with heavy (basic) compound movements, use proper technique and spotters when use heavy movements, (ie.. bench press, squats, deadlifts, military press) have to work the large muscle groups. A fantastic exercise for overall strength and to build mass would be the Olympic clean and jerk movement. It is an overall builder. Take a look at this web site for more information, there is a teen section that will help you in your goals.

The best way to help your body place on muscle mass it making sure your body is never calorie deprived. Keep your body stocked on calories….and I mean lean, protein enriched calories not junk. You need to do this because after you lift weights and work out your body will need the calories to heal and rebuild your muscles. Carbs are vital but stay away from yeast carbs like bread, rolls, etc. Get your carbs in by grains like rice, pasta, and potatoes. Eat small nutrient calorie dense meals throughout the day and be sure to include lean meats and vegetables. If you go to the store you should pick up a book on muscle building, all of this information will be in there and other helpful tips. I would suggest staying away from pills and supplements though, I really reckon the best way is the safe and natural way. Excellent Luck.
