Gain Muscle?

I am 6′-1″ and weight 145.. I know, I know, I am on the skinny stick figure side (lol) and i need to gain muscle… really terrible.. so i know i have to eat 145 grams of protein a day. So when working out, how should i lift weights? (example) Do max weights 8 reps.. and 4 sets.. on upper body, lower body, and torso? or should i do more reps and less sets? need some advice? thanks
I really just need advice on how many reps and sets to do.. how how many times a week to work out that muscle group.

    well, my friend is also 6’1 and he works out everyday….he told me that if u want 2 get more muscles work on them lik one day work ur arms, chest what ever and then the 2-morrow ur legs lik dont work the same part 2 days or more in a row….just lik work ur arms lik lets say monday, wednesday lik skip a day….i hope u know im terrible @ explaining….

    you should give your muscles a rest between work out days…
    so do upper body one day and lower the next.

    I know that to TONE its less weights, more reps…2-3 sets.
    So I would say to gain muscle bulk…….you’re gonna wanna
    do more weights, less reps, more sets. Example:
    50 lbs, 8 reps w/ 4-5 sets.
